A wide variety of options to make your project shine

We will take the time to review materials and explain the working properties of each material. We are interested in what your goals are for the project and what the areas of concern are. From there we can choose the best material to fit your requirements. We will also take the time to explain how raw materials are priced and how that may or may not reflect on the overall quality of a particular material. In order to make sure you are satisfied for years after the installation it is important that you have a complete understanding of the product you are buying. You should be given enough information to make sure you can make the best selection for your project. We want to avoid any surprises after the work has started.

Cincinnati StoneWorks stocks full slabs for you to view and select the exact slab for your project. We work closely with our regional suppliers to make sure we have a full range of colors for you to select from at our facility. Purchasing slabs is similar to many other products as you tend to get what you pay for. We take the time to inspect the finish and over all quality of material that we put into stock. We push for the best pricing that we can but we will not sacrifice quality to save a few bucks on the slab. All granites are not created equal and each stone has different and unique working properties. There are some materials that are popular because of the color but are not in our inventory because they are problematic when it comes to fabrication and overall durability. We will point out some of these features and help you to make the best decision for your project. We stock a number of materials in the low to medium price range. The cost of the material is not really an indicator of the quality as many low range price materials have better working properties than some of the “exotic” materials. The list below is some of the colors we typically keep in stock as long as quality runs are available. This list is not all inclusive.

Granite is one of the hardest materials available for kitchen countertops. It has a high tolerance for heat although trivets are still recommended for heavy duty cookware used at high temperatures. Most granites are highly resistant to bacteria and staining. Cincinnati Stoneworks applies a heavy duty penetrating sealer that will keep your investment looking like new for years to come. Polished granite will have a 15 year residential warranty against staining. There are hundreds of granite colors available. Each lot of material will have its own look as it is a natural material. The random look of the material will help give your project a one of a kind unique look.  We stock over 90 colors of granite in our warehouse in West Chester.  We can get almost any stone through our network of regional suppliers. However, all granites are not created equal. We have put a great deal of effort in partnering with our suppliers to make sure we are providing the highest quality material available.  Improvements to quarrying equipment and superior resins have enabled quarries to provide a wide array of materials that are sold as “granite”.  There are some that we are not interested in working on at all and others that merit further discussion to make sure there is an understanding of how the material will perform for the proposed application. We want to take the time up front providing all of the information that you will need to make an educated informed decision.

Marble has been used freely for fireplaces, vanities and even kitchens. It is a stone that holds timeless beauty and is sought after for its finish and depth of color.  Since it is softer it can be shaped into many different formats. Consumers can combine slabs, tiles and an array of different trim pieces to create their own unique look.  Marble is a Metamorphic rock that contains calcite. The calcite is susceptible to mild acids commonly found in homes. Acids like vinegar and lemon juice can react with the calcite and essentially eat the surface of the material. When the correct cleaning products and methods are used marble will maintain its beauty and luster over time.  There are a small group of marbles that have other minerals incorporated that will give them a higher tolerance to acids. They are still classified as marble and with alterations to the final finish may be a perfect fit for your application. We have samples in our showroom to show you exactly how materials will react over time. We also have materials in honed and leather finish to show the look and how they may fit your project as well.

Quartz is a man-made product that is comprised mostly of one of natures hardest materials. Quartz is a durable low maintenance surface that will provide years of timeless beauty to your home. One of the strengths of quartz is the consistent color and pattern that is available. It is possible to have the look of a natural marble and the durability of granite. New advances in technology have allowed manufacturers to mimic natural stone more closely. Cincinnati Stoneworks stocks some of the more popular patterns. This allows customers to see the full slab to better visualize the final product in their kitchen. Also, some patterns may prompt an additional meeting to layout the countertops on the slabs to insure the best look. We represent nine different manufacturers offering hundreds of variations in color and pattern.

Spark Your Creativity

Cincinnati Stoneworks has designers available to help you navigate all the options available for countertops. We stock quartz, granite, quartzite, marble, limestone and soapstone. Each material has its own set of unique properties. We will take the time to review your project and listen to your needs. We can make recommendations for the best materials for the job. We can also provide you with information that may rule out certain materials even though they are widely used in print ads and home improvement shows. It is important to be realistic about where and how the material will be used.
